After experiencing several traumatic events, I began journaling and quickly realized that writing is therapeutic for me. Together with my Ecstatic Dance practice, writing helped me process and come to terms with the trauma I experienced in a constructive manner. This inspired me to share short stories on my personal experiences.
I recently began to convert select journal entries into poems, and I'm in the process of authoring a collection to share. I also began to attend open-mic events within my community, where I frequently recite my poems and witness others who share their own. I discovered that having others witness my truth as I'm verbally sharing it adds an extra layer of catharsis to my process. I have found a second home with those who show up to these events.
I'm also in the midst of authoring a workbook that highlights my shadow process and helps others to begin their healing journal or elevate their existing one. Both my poetry collection and workbook will become available on Amazon at a future date.
My stories are available on Amazon. See links below for more information.
I lean heavily into my Ecstatic Dance practice, together with journaling and writing stories and poems, as a vehicle to foster healing. I write with the intent to share my learnings in order to promote mindfulness, resilience and self-advocacy in others.
