What is Ecstatic Dance?

In a nutshell, Ecstatic Dance is a meditative, free-form movement practice. It’s meditative in that your focus is turned inward. “Free-form” means there are no steps to learn. No right or wrong way to do it. No experience needed. 

This is accomplished by holding a safe space that is judgement free, getting into a relaxed meditative state, and then opening up to the journey. Moving in any way that is authentic and feels right to you. 

It’s helpful to think about Ecstatic Dance as “dancing as if no one is watching,” similar to how people dance at a rave or other free-form dance event.
